Purchase contract

The following terminology applies to these terms and conditions, Privacy statement and disclaimer notice and any or all agreements: “Client”, “you” and “yours” refer to you, the person accessing this website and accepting the Company’s terms and conditions. “L’Isola Buona”“, “Ourselves”, “We” and “Us”, refers to L’Isola Buona Ltd “ whose registered office is 12-13 Ship street, Brighton BN1 1AD. “Party”, “Parties”, or “Us”, refers to both the Client and ourselves, or either the Client or ourselves. By submitting an order on this website, you are agreeing to the terms that appear below which will apply to any purchase made on this website. When you place an order using our website this is an offer by you to us to purchase these items.

We will confirm acceptance of your order. This will be done by message on the website immediately after you have confirmed your order and by us sending an e-mail to the email address you have provided to us. At this point the purchase contract will be made and we will supply the goods to you in accordance with your order and these Terms and Conditions.

Goods prices availability

All prices are inclusive of VAT. Delivery is charged extra. All products are subject to availability. If your item is not in stock, we will contact you using the contact details you supplied when placing your order with the option to offer you an alternative item of equivalent quality and price if this is possible or cancel the item from your order and give you a full refund in respect of that item. If we are unable to contact you or do not receive a response from you, we will process any remaining items on your order and refund you for the items we were unable to supply.

Products colour and specification

We have done our best to display the colours, specifications and dimensions of items on the website as accurately as possible. The colours you see will depend on the resolution of your monitor; we cannot guarantee that your monitor's display of any colour will reflect accurately the colour of the item delivered. The weight of the products is approximate, apart from jars and packed food. We may from time to time vary the dimensions, specifications and quantities of items displayed on our website without prior notice.


It is illegal in the UK to sell alcohol to persons under the age of 18. It is also an offence for persons under 18 to buy or attempt to buy alcohol. No persons under 18 years may place an order with L’Isola Buona Ltd if the goods contain alcohol. If you are buying any alcohol as a gift the recipient must also be over 18 years old. By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.

Where we deliver

We deliver to UK mainland, Scotland (excluding Scottish Highlands and some extended areas) and Northern Ireland and republic of Ireland (excluding some extended areas). Delivery will be made to the address specified by you when you place your order. You can change this address, during the checkout, should you need the delivery made to a different address (i.e your work address).

Delivery information

Deliveries will be made between Tuesday and Friday by courier between 9 AM and 5PM and must be signed for. It is your responsibility to ensure that an appropriate person is available at the delivery address at all times during the delivery time to sign for all goods on delivery.

Orders received after 12pm will be dispatched next day. Orders received after 12pm on Thursdays will be sent out the following Monday for delivery on Tuesday. On bank holidays orders will be dispatched next Tuesday.

Shipping and packaging

Foods such as cheeses and cured meats, will be wrapped with ice packs to maintain a cool temperature for at least 24 hours. Fragile items, such as bottles and jars will be wrapped in protective packaging.

Cancellations /non perishable goods only

If you want to cancel you order, please contact L’Isola Buona at info@lisolabuona.co.uk or call 01273512260 as soon as possible. We usually process orders immediately therefore it may not always be possible to prevent an order from being dispatched.

You have the right by law to withdraw from the purchase of any item within a "cooling-off" period of fourteen working days starting on the day after the day the item is delivered to you ("Cooling-Off Period"). In relation to perishable goods and sealed items where the seal has been broken, you will not have the right to cancel your order once it has been dispatched.

If you cancel your order following dispatch of the goods, you must also return the goods to us. You must not unpack if you have already cancelled your order. You must send the goods back to us at our contact address at your own cost and risk as soon as possible. We will then refund your credit or debit card with the total value of your order; deducting delivery costs within 30 days of cancellation PROVIDED THAT the goods in question are returned by you and received by us in the same condition as they were delivered to you. If you do not return the goods delivered to you or do not pay the costs of delivery, we shall be entitled to deduct the direct costs. We do not accept liability for returned packages damaged during transit back to us. It is your responsibility to wrap products adequately to prevent damage.


Everything you buy from us is dispatched in the best possible condition. If the goods you receive are damaged, defective or different from the goods you ordered you will be entitled to either replacement goods or a full refund. All goods must be examined on delivery and any loss or damage must be notified in writing or by telephone within two days from the date of delivery. Where applicable reasonable proof must be provided in order that we may claim from our insurers. After delivery we cannot accept responsibility for any defect or damage to the goods caused by unsatisfactory handling or storage in unsuitable conditions. The cost of returning the damaged, defective or dissimilar goods shall be paid by us.

Events beyond our reasonable control

We will not be responsible to you for any delay or failure to comply with our obligations under these On-line Shopping Terms and Conditions if the delay or failure arises from any cause beyond our reasonable control: War, Strike, Lockout, Labour, Dispute, Fire, Flood, Drought or other cause beyond the control of L’Isola Buona Ltd.

Alteration to this website and terms and conditions

We may change the terms of special offers, or withdraw them altogether, at any time and without prior notice. We reserve the right at any time to make changes to this Website, these On-line Shopping Terms and Conditions, Privacy Statement and such other policies as we may notify you of. You will be subject to the policies and terms and conditions in force at the time you use the Website or order items from the Website. Changes which we are required to make by law could apply to orders which you have already made.

This contract is subject to English law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
